Former ESA director sets up environmental consultancy business

Stuart McLanaghan, who was previously director of policy at the Environmental Services Association (ESA), has set up his own consultancy business.

Dr McLanaghan left the ESA in October 2001 and following a short sabbatical, has now set up an independent environmental consultancy called Associates in Industrial Ecology.

Mr McLanaghan, who will also carry out policy analyst work, said that the challenges and opportunities facing UK business and commerce in moving towards move sustainable working practices are considerable.

Associates in Industrial Ecology aims to “green” business and commerce and Mr McLanaghan, said: “Much of the work will focus on issues concerning waste and secondary resource management, together with wider aspects embracing sustainable development in other sectors. Professional services are available on a daily, fixed short-term and retainer basis, both here in the UK and abroad.”
