Final call for entries for Wood Recycling Awards

Companies, councils and individuals who work within the wood recycling sector and affiliated industries have until this Friday (October 7) to enter the inaugural Wood Recyclers Association Awards.

The awards celebrate excellence, innovation and success in the wood recycling sector and will be presented at a luncheon at the National Motorcycle Museum, near Birmingham, on Tuesday November 1. They represent the first time that wood recyclers have been recognised in this way.

They are open to Wood Recyclers Association (WRA) members, board mills, recyclers, energy companies, individuals, local authorities, the community sector and all those who work within the field of wood recycling.

The categories are:
Innovation in wood recycling
Best partnership award
Site manager of the year award
Energy development of the year
Quality product of the year

To enter, simply download the entry form here and send your entry to letsrecycle.com by midday on Friday October 7. Entries can be sent via post to letsrecycle.com, Elizabeth House, 39 York Road, London, SE1 7NQ, or by e-mail to iona.s@letsrecycle.com. Conference

The awards luncheon will take place during the Wood Recyclers Association 10th anniversary conference, entitled Wood recycling: facing up to changing markets and new demands.

Confirmed speakers include Neil Bailey, head of biomass management at RWE nPower Renewables and Mat Crocker, head of illegals and waste at the Environment Agency. Please click here for details of the full programme.

Topics to be discussed at the one-day event will include competition for material between the biomass and panel board sector, efforts to assess the carbon benefits of recycling waste wood and government and regulator priorities
