Utilising technology already in use at the company’s other facilities in Perth, Scotland, Toomebridge, Northern Ireland and Grantham, England, the equipment will include degassing, shredding and recycling technologies, with the aim of ensuring that 98% of the fridge components will be recovered for further processing.
‘Much-need additional recycling capacity’
Enva’s MD, Barry Phillips, said: “We look forward to continuing what has been a highly successful partnership with Andritz. This facility will provide much-needed additional recycling capacity in London and the South East.”
Tom Cortaville, a representative of Andritz Recycling in the United Kingdom, said: “The equipment will now go into production for a planned delivery in June 2026 and installed in good time for the opening of the facility late next year.”
Enva has said the facility, set to be operational in late 2026, will have the capacity to process 35,000 tonnes per year.
