The pair were listed in court documents twice with both sides as challengers in the cases.
At issue is understood to be how income is distributed from the use of Greatmoor energy from waste plant in Buckinghamshire from payments by ‘third parties’, who send waste for incineration at the plant.
A Buckinghamshire Council spokesman said: “The parties are in dispute in respect of certain issues relating to third party income associated with the Greatmoor energy from waste plant.”
A spokesperson for FCC Environment said: “FCC Environment and Buckinghamshire Council are currently seeking clarification from the High Court on an issue relating to the terms of the original contract issued by the Council.”
Partnership
FCC Buckinghamshire and Buckinghamshire Council entered into a 30-year partnership in 2013 to deliver residual waste treatment and transfer infrastructure.
FCC explained that: “At the heart of this contract is an Energy from Waste (EfW) facility, Greatmoor, which became operational in 2016 and is located in the north of Buckinghamshire which allows up to 300,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste per year to be diverted from landfill and instead enter a treatment process to generate power. The EfW produces 25 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 40,000 homes. At the same time, it will save the council approximately £150 million over the lifetime of the contract through diverting waste from landfill.”
The court decision is to be disclosed at a later date.
