The organics recycler has been awarded the four-year contract by Commercial Services Kent Ltd, which was set up nearly 70 years ago by Kent county council to provide services to the public and private sector.
Under the contract, Countrystyle will manage the haulage of around 116,000 tonnes of waste materials from the two transfer stations, which are based in North Farm at Tunbridge Wells and Dunbrik in Sevenoaks.
Materials collected under the arrangement will include dry mixed recyclables, wood, glass, green waste, asbestos, soil and rubble, plasterboard and domestic bulky waste.
The waste will be collected by the firm’s own fleet and transported to various treatment and disposal sites including Countrystyle’s own materials recycling facility (MRF) in Ridham near Sittingbourne. The MRF is licenced to process 245,000 tonnes of waste and recyclables per year.
The contract is expected to commence from April 1 2015 and is due to run until June 2019.
