Cory, which has held the contract since August 1989, is intending to extend kerbside recycling services for residents with a three-box alternate-weekly system for plastic, card, cans, textiles, paper and glass.
Andy Mercer, leader of East Northamptonshire council, said: “We see this as an opportunity to develop our partnership further, to provide an extended recycling service across the District, and to continue moving forward to deliver a high quality, value for money waste management service.”
A range of new vehicles has been ordered as a result of the new contract. These include seven new Mercedes chassis, Faun bodied vehicles for refuse and recycling, two Johnston road sweepers as well as five new Mitsubishi Canter cleansing vehicles.

Robert Clarke, Cory's East Northamptonshire contract manager, said: “This is an important contract for Cory to win.
“With the new three box system it'll now be easier for residents to recycle from the kerbside. With all 34,500 households able to take advantage of the new kerbside recycling scheme, East Northamptonshire's impressive recycling performance looks set to continue,” Mr Clarke explained.
