Clothing market holds good for November

Textile recyclers in the UK report good demand for clean used clothing. Supplies are said to be firm and although prices in the UK have been static for some time, there is considerable pressure in the market and prices are expected to rise marginally in November. The letsrecycle.com textiles guide price will be adjusted accordingly.

One merchant told letsrecycle that demand from Africa and the near-east is “good at the moment”.

Shipping costs have, however, risen and this will dent margins.

Another merchant remarked that African trade has been helped through a softening of border controls which have long been an issue for exporters to the continent.
