SWS will continue to operate under its existing brand and management, offering its full range of sustainable waste and recycling solutions.

The acquired company has operated over several decades, delivering recycling services to commercial and industrial customers.

It handles all areas of commercial waste management, including hazardous waste, clinical waste, healthcare waste and construction waste solutions.

Mark Sommers, Managing Director of SWS, commented: “Joining CIRQLR comes at the right time for SWS and its customers who are constantly looking for a greater variety of recycling services to address a rapidly changing regulatory landscape.

“Being part of CIRQLR offers only upsides for existing SWS customers and opens new opportunities to leverage the knowledge and facilities that CIRQLR’s regional subsidiaries can offer.”

Expansion into the South East

Through a series of acquisitions, CIRQLR has established an integrated network of regional operators serving areas from the South Coast to the Humber.

The group said the move strengthens its ability to deliver a “fully integrated, customer-led recycling service” across the UK.

Through its growing network and increased processing capacity, CIRQLR expects to more than double the recycling materials it handles annually – from 600,000 tonnes to over one million tonnes in the coming years.

David Palmer-Jones, CEO and founder of CIRQLR, said: “The arrival of SWS comes at an exciting time for CIRQLR, offering a step change in our national coverage and the goal to provide a more circular approach to the way businesses manage their materials.

CIRQLR recently expanded its leadership team with Gareth Lewis joining as Chief Operating Officer and Tristan Drinkwater as IT Director.

Kevin Hill, Managing Director of KP Waste and Eco Waste and Recycling, part of CIRQLR, added: “SWS brings an immediate extra benefit to our business customers both in terms of the range of waste solutions and geographic reach we can now offer.”
