The system was designed in conjunction with manufacturer Hugh Crane and is capable of washing up to 500 240 litre or 360 litre containers per day.
BPR Group is an umbrella company for the commercial waste and confidential shredding businesses Paper Round and Secure Paper.
According to VIP Bin Cleaning, the line is the first ever large in situ automatic wash line it has installed at a waste site.
The fully automated system comprises conveyor and loading systems and computer controlled jet washing systems. Water is heated via gas oil fired boilers.
Safety
Safety features such as automatic trip switches, laser trip switches and manual override systems have also been installed.

BPR has claimed that the efficiency of the new system will help to reduce its carbon footprint.
Collection milestone
The installation of the new wash system comes as the company announced Paper Round’s 2 millionth recycling collection.
The company made 1 million recycling collections from businesses in London between 2003 and 2012 and since has doubled this figure, with the 2 millionth collection taking place at Le Pain Quotidien’s Highgate store in September.
Paper Round has collected 95,696 tonnes of waste and recycling over the last four years, the company says.
