The company has been awarded a contract worth close to £1 million to service the site, which was previously held by waste and resources giant Veolia, but was taken over by BPR Group in May 2016. The contract is expected to run until 2019.

The Bluewater Shopping Centre, located near the town of Stone, Kent, outside the M25 motorway, includes over 300 retail stores, as well as 60 restaurants and leisure activities.
Recycling
BPR Group – which owns the Paper Round recycling brand – collects food waste from 100 bins and from around 70 glass bins twice-a-week.
Glass is sent to BPR’s MRF in Purfleet, less than 10 miles from Bluewater, whilst BPR sends food waste to Biogen for treatment via anaerobic digestion.
The company has also confirmed that Incentive FM is to handle cleaning services at the shopping centre as well as the processing of cardboard and plastic film from retailers. Plastic and card is baled on-site.
Partnership
Both businesses have previously worked together on projects including the Battleship Building, in Harrow, north west London.
Bill Swan, managing director of BPR Group, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the contract for Bluewater Shopping Centre. We will be using the opportunity to strengthen our partnership with Incentive by improving the environmental performance of the centre, whilst providing the best possible value.”
BPR Group will also be investing in a range of new bins and vehicles which will be used to help the contract run effectively. This will include the implementation of a consistent colour scheme to ensure signage, bins and sacks are all co-ordinated, which the company claims will help to reduce contamination and improve efficiency.
