Beauparc acquires Manchester-based JWS

The Beauparc Group has further expanded its portfolio in the north of England, by acquiring Manchester-based JWS Waste & Recycling Services for an undisclosed sum.

JWS is now part the Beauparc Group

JWS will expand the Irish-owned company’s portfolio in the area, which already includes Associated Waste Management, LSS Waste, WSR Recycling, Scotwaste, NES and Mid UK.

The move comes after Beauparc was acquired by Macquarie Asset Management in June (see letsrecycle.com story).

The senior management team at JWS will remain within the business, including managing director Tim Andrew, head of sales and marketing Alyson Andrew, head of compliance and HR Jade Saleh and head of finance Darren Cumpsty.

Mr Andrew commented: “We are excited with the prospect of working with Beauparc who will provide JWS and its loyal customer base with the support in what is a rapidly changing waste market. We’re looking forward to sharing some of the technology and innovation that Beauparc has become industry renowned for to build upon the sustainable services we already provide”.

The team at JWS will work alongside Beauparc’s operational management, led by UK operations and logistics director Eamonn Hanley.

JWS

JWS provides waste management in both the commercial  and construction sectors and has been independently owned since it was formed in 1983.

It employs a workforce of 90 and operates from a Salford-based material recovery facility (MRF).

The MRF processes around 375,000 tonnes of waste annually and has commercial offtake arrangements for refuse derived fuel (RDF) throughout the UK.

‘Delighted’

Brian McCabe, Beauparc’s chief executive, commented: “We’re delighted to have concluded the acquisition of this well-known Manchester company.  JWS will continue to add growth to our UK strategy and bring with it a greater level of scale and processing capabilities to the wider Group”.

“This acquisition is part of our strategic growth plan for the UK, and it is our intention to work with the existing team and continue to provide its customers with the same levels of service as they are used to.  We look forward to further developing this business, ensuring the company is supported and continues to grow and at the same time, providing exceptional quality and sustainable solutions for dealing with waste”.
