Division one football club West Ham United has purchased a high spec compactor to handle all waste generated in and around its newly refurbished stadium, which includes a football ground, hotel, shop, conferencing and hospitality operations. To keep in with the football team's strip, the new compactor has been painted claret and blue.

Andy Jacobs, ACM's chief executive and a lifelong West Ham supporter, said “I am a diehard Hammer – being a season ticket holder since the age of four. Having witnessed the scale of operations around match day, I was sure that ACM could help in some way and I am delighted that we have been able to provide an effective solution for the club.”
West Ham's new leakproof compactor crushes waste with a 34 tonne hydraulic rams, reducing the volume of material and the number of collections required. So far the machine has generated estimated savings of 40% the club's waste disposal costs as well as improving hygiene standards.

ACM has also recently supplied a compactor for Cambridge city council in light blue, the colour of the Cambridge University sports teams including its famous rowing crew.

The machine has been installed for use by Cambridge's historic market and is the first to be supplied to a local authority by ACM. The company customised the compactor with a bigger aperture than standard to allow more waste to be compressed per cycle reducing queuing for the machine and prevent dumping of waste.
Barry Bolton, chairman of ACM, said: “The installation of this machine has provided a solution to a number of potential problems for the council at the market. We are delighted that this compactor, our first local government contract, has proven to be so successful.”
