Philip Ward joins SEaB Energy
On-site waste to energy specialist SEaB Energy has announced the appointment of former senior civil servant Philip Ward, who is joining the company in an advisory role.

Previously, Mr Ward had worked at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and as a director in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs , as well as having been one of the key figures in the development of resources body WRAP.
He was a senior figure within WRAP until 2011, where he served as director where he was responsible for work on waste prevention, including working with the retail sector on packaging and with local authorities
Mr Ward commented: “I am delighted to be joining the advisory board at one of the UK’s brightest cleantech companies as it now begins to accelerate sales of its unique waste to energy technology. SEaB Energy’s systems bring immediate financial and environmental benefits to a wide range of organic waste producers.”
University of Southampton based SEaB Energy are a developer of small waste to energy products and have produced compact micro power plants Muckbuster and Flexibuster, as a way to create clean energy and water from onsite organic waste.

Lumicom welcomes new general manager

Stewart Price is to join commercial lighting WEEE compliance scheme Lumicom as general manager after his many years’ experience including roles with WEEE processor Wincanton Recycling and Sims Recycling Solutions.
He joins Lumicom, part of the Lighting Industry Association, from the WasteCare group, where he managed their WeeeCare compliance scheme.
Mr Price said: “I am delighted to be joining Lumicom at what is a very exciting time for the industry. I look forward to utilising my experience in both logistics and processing to develop solutions with our existing and prospective members.”
Lumicom claims to be the UK’s leading not-for-profit WEE compliance Scheme for all lighting. Its clients include those who sell into the non-household market to meet their obligations under the WEEE Regulations.

UKWSL appoints logistics manager
Waste brokerage firm UKWSL has appointed Helen Hall to its senior management team as logistics manager.

Ms Hall will take up her new role having over 13 years logistical experience having worked for waste management companies Shanks Waste Management and Biffa Waste Services.
Based in Newark, Nottingham, UK Waste Solutions provides waste management services in the UK for the private and public sector. Clients include Network Rail and Balfour Beatty with the company pushing to double its revenue to £40 million and create 200 new jobs in the next five years.
Ms Hall said of her appointment: “Starting my new adventure at UKWSL as the logistics manager is an exciting career step for me, I am thrilled to be joining such a vibrant and dynamic business.”
