The winners will be announced at a celebratory luncheon and Awards Ceremony on May 14 at the Landmark Hotel, London.
Judging took place last week with a higher number of entries than in the previous year, and strong competition across the categories.
Judges were pleased to see how recycling initiatives had “moved on” with new ideas, a focus on a wider range of materials and continuing personal commitment to a high level by a number of authorities.
The judges were: Andrew Bird, chair of LARAC; Linda Crichton, head of collections & quality programme, WRAP; Helen Drury, head of sustainability, British Council of Shopping Centres; Simon Ellin, Recycling Association chief executive; Steve Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com; and Helen Middleton, market development manager, Furniture Reuse Network.
