A shortlist covering individuals, local authorities, the community sector and businesses has been announced for the 2015 letsrecycle.com Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management.

Awards trophies
Winners of the 2015 letsrecycle.com Awards for Excellence will be announced on May 14 at the awards ceremony in London

The winners will be announced at a celebratory luncheon and Awards Ceremony on May 14 at the Landmark Hotel, London.

Judging took place last week with a higher number of entries than in the previous year, and strong competition across the categories.

Judges were pleased to see how recycling initiatives had “moved on” with new ideas, a focus on a wider range of materials and continuing personal commitment to a high level by a number of authorities.

The judges were: Andrew Bird, chair of LARAC; Linda Crichton, head of collections & quality programme, WRAP; Helen Drury, head of sustainability, British Council of Shopping Centres; Simon Ellin, Recycling Association chief executive; Steve Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com; and Helen Middleton, market development manager, Furniture Reuse Network.
