Financial services firm Deloitte LLP has been appointed to oversee the liquidation of the company and is due to meet with creditors later this month.

A statement from the company, released last week, said: The directors of Asset and Land Environmental Limited have asked Deloitte LLP to assist in convening a meeting of creditors to place the company into Creditors Voluntary Liquidation.

Notices of the meeting are expected to be sent out shortly and the meeting of creditors is expected to be held at the Deloitte offices in Manchester on February 27, 2013.

Asset & Land Environmental had a stock of baled solid recovered fuel (SRF) stored on its site in Stockport. And, following the company going into the liquidation process, responsibility for the waste has been transferred to Asset & Lands sister company, Junction 25 Recycling.

This was confirmed by a spokeswoman for the Environment Agency last week who told letsrecycle.com: The permit has been transferred to another company so operations at the site will continue as normal but under the new company name.

Barry Kilroe, director of Asset & Land Recovery Ltd, the parent company of Asset & Land Environmental and Junction 25 Recycling, could not be reached for comment.

Junction 25 Recycling runs a 200,000 tonne-per-annum capacity materials recycling facility for commercial waste in Stockport, Cheshire. In October 2011 Junction 25 was awarded a three-year contract to supply RDF to energy provider Dong Energy for use in its Horsens combined heat and power plant in Denmark.
