WRAP invites tenders to develop composting training day

The Waste and Resources Action Programme is inviting bids for the design, development and preparation of a one day training course on implementing composting quality management.

“Suitably qualified candidates” have been asked to propose tenders to develop the course under WRAP's Compost Standards Programme.

The training day is intended to increase awareness of the new Composting Association quality standard. In a statement, WRAP said that proposals should aim to:

  • Inform producers about quality management systems, the industry standard and the Composting Association's certification scheme in order to increase production of consistently high quality compost
  • Encourage compost producers to comply with the standard and seek certification
  • Promote the standard as a tool for marketing end products and achieving higher sales revenues
  • Capture compost producers who are not yet aware of the standard or on the route to compliance

The deadline for tender applications is October 17 2002.
