The show, taking place at Birminghams NEC arena from September 11 to 13, is supported by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) and the Environmental Services Association (ESA).
As well as a host of networking opportunities and a comprehensive exhibitor line-up featuring leading private waste contractors, technology specialists, plant and equipment suppliers and consultants, the show will bring around 100 expert speakers together in its largest ever free CPD-accredited conference across six themed theatres.
On the platform in the Leaders Theatre, former environment secretary John Gummer, now Lord Deben, will highlight the importance of diverting food waste from landfill. Other keynote speakers throughout the three-day event include: Alastair Campbell, former director of communications and strategy for Tony Blair; Brian Cox OBE, particle physicist turned television science presenter; and, James Woudhuysen, professor of forecasting and innovation at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Exhibition
In addition all the key materials associations and social enterprises in the waste and recycling sector will be brought together under the same roof in the Materials Village. Elsewhere, the Social Enterprise Zone will provide visitors with the opportunity to connect with third sector organisations.
Visitors will have the opportunity to share knowledge and gain contacts through the speed-networking events and the Stobart Biomass Networking Hub. Elsewhere Caf Viridor offers an informal place to meet.
The floor will play host to over 700 exhibitors, who will be showcasing everything from plant and equipment, organics waste treatment solutions as well as a variety of innovative containers. Companies exhibiting at the show include:
New Earth Solutions
New Earths stand will feature information on its range of waste treatment services which include gasification, anaerobic digestion, in-vessel composting and mechanical biological treatment.
Mach Tech Services
Shredding specialists Mach Tech Services will be showcasing the UK launch of two machines – the Urraco slow-speed two shaft shredder and the Meteor 2200 shredder. Mach Tech Services Ltd is the UK and Irelands exclusive supplier of Lindner Recycling machinery. The Lancashire-based company specialises in a wide range of shredders for SRF and RDF, plastics and metals.
UNTHA UK
Taking one of the largest stands at the show is UNTHA UK, which will be putting four machines under the spotlight the RS100 confidential waste shredder, the RS30 and RS40 organic waste processor, and the LRK series for plastic shredding.
Its team will also be on hand to offer advice on how delegates can reduce operational costs, increase their environmental agenda and generate additional revenue from their waste.
Knowaste
Knowaste is a waste treatment company specialising in recycling disposable nappies, adult incontinence and feminine hygiene products – known as absorbent hygiene products (AHPs). The firm is at RWM 2012 with the aim of talking to authorities and waste management companies about tackling the 800,000 tonnes of domestic AHP waste generated in UK homes every year.
Qurius UK
At RWM 2012 Qurius UK, systems integration provider to the environmental, recycling and waste management industry, will be launching two new technologies. In addition, the firm will be revaling Ezgoing, a cloud-based IT solution that has been designed specifically for the waste and recycling sector. As one of Microsofts largest European partners Qurius UK delivers industry-specific Microsoft CRM based solutions.
Vecoplan
Vecoplan develops, produces and sells plants and machines for shredding, conveying, and processing of primary and secondary raw materials gained in recycling processes. Vecoplans stand will feature a selection of its machines, with a range of staff on hand, including proposal engineers and after service managers, to help with enquiries.
Scarab Sweepers
From its headquarters and manufacturing centre in Kent, the company offers a range of road sweepers which it says have a high build quality and are complimented by minimal noise and exhaust pollution.
West Recycling
WRL Group will officially launch its new UK Redundant Stock brand, Paper Kraft at RWM2012. Paper Kraft exclusively buys for a re-processing facility in India supplying paper and card products for the local educational and arts & crafts markets: a unique value added service that fulfils an ethically important need. Paper Kraft will be looking to build long term relationships to buy full and part loads, part damaged and extensively damaged printed and unprinted reels, reel cores, card sheets and other materials from paper, cardboard and tissue mills, converters, merchants, printers, stock holders and recyclers throughout the UK.
Straight
Leeds-based container manufacturer Straight is returning to RWM to showcase its new range of products. The firm will be launching its 3BoxStack – a multi-box recycling container that stacks neatly into one easily maneuverable unit – and the new Canto Caddy, a food waste collection container which sits inside or outside any wheeled container.
