Giles Hetherington, managing director of Vantage Waste, told letsrecycle.com that it was “business as usual” at the firm in Bakewell, Derbyshire, with no changes to staff or premises.
Established in 2000, Vantage Waste Management facilitates contracts between waste service providers and public and private sector customers requiring waste services.
According to Vantage Waste’s website, which at the time of writing has been closed down, famous brands which have been attached to the business include HM Prison Services, Vue Cinemas, Burger King, Wagamama and Morrisons.
Administration
Vantage appointed Gareth Self and Keith Robin Cottam of insolvency firm Restart BTi as joint administrators on 18 November after the business “lost the backing” of one of its creditors, according to Mr Hetherington.
At the time, Vantage Waste had been in the process of conducting a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) which enables a compromise between a business and its creditors.
A buyer for the company was found on Monday (21 November), which last night was announced as Bakewell firm Tony Team Limited.
Tony Team has been trading for around 40 years and specialises in the manufacture of bag and bin compactors and can crushers, which have been rolled out to a number of schools, restaurants and retail complexes such as Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough.
Sale
Commenting on the acquisition, Mr Hetherington said: “The company was bought out as a going concern. As far as the company is concerned it is business as usual with staff and premises kept on.”
He added: “Tony Team have around 40 years’ experience in the waste industry and any future enquiries should now be directed to them.”
Commenting on the sale, Restart BTi said earlier this week: “An offer has recently been accepted, subject to contract, and the Joint Administrators and prospective purchaser are working to conclude the sale in the next few days.”
When contacted by letsrecycle.com, Tony Team could not be reached for comment.
