UKCM wins Masters of Waste 2024

After settling for runners up in last years event, UKCM has won the 2024 Masters of Waste Golf tournament, which took place on 18 April at The Warwickshire with a score of 100 points.

For its 13th edition, Masters of Waste hosted waste and recycling professionals from across the industry who took part in the tournament. The event raises money for Child Bereavement UK, for which letsrecycle.com have raised £22,000 over the years.

UKCM’s winning team consisted of Mark Roberts, Mark Williams, Ben Roberts, and Andrew Malone, they were one of two UKCM sides in the event.

Stuart Wheatley, Darren Judd, Chris Snelson, and Richard Skan from Boughtons finished as close runners up with a score of 100 points on countback. UKCM’s second team consisting of Ben Connett, Paul Peters, Andrew Reidy and Darren Harding, rounded off the top three with 97.

Individually, Dave Kenney who played for Farid Hillend Engineering Ltd, took home first place, Andrew Malone from UKCM’s winning team taking second, and Richard Monks from Blue Machinery Southern Ltd securing third.

The highest-scoring woman was Kirsty Hilsden from Hillend Engineering.

Competitions

The day also plays host to a series of other challenges.

The straightest drive was won by Gavin Williams who played for EMR. Dewi Lane, who played for Epic Media, won the second ‘nearest the pin’ challenge, and Adam Howell from Wastecome – NRG won ‘nearest the pin’.

Andre Bothma who played for Bartec won two challenges; the longest drive and ‘nearest the pin in 3’.
