Taylor chief executive David Williams to step down

David Williams, chief executive of steel bin manufacturer Taylor, has decided to step down after eight years with the company.

Mr Williams, who will leave the business on June 30, has served as operations director and managing director during his time at Taylor. The firm is expected to announce his replacement in the coming months.

Mr Williams was appointed as Taylors chief executive after the companys acquisition by private investment company Sullivan Street Partners for 15 million in October 2011 (see letsrecycle.com story). He had previously worked within the companys management team since 2006.

Commenting on his decision, Mr Williams said he was extremely proud of the companys many achievements across his eight-year tenure.

He said: Taylor has been my life for the past eight years and I will miss it. Working with a fantastic team, I have genuinely enjoyed my time here and it has been a real privilege to have led this quality company.

I am extremely proud of our achievements during my time with this market leading company and happily leave it in a growing economy with a solid core business and an excellent array of growth opportunities.

The announcement follows a period of recapitalisation at Taylor, which has been conducted to provide a platform for future growth and to enable the firm to invest in new products and services.

Expansion

As part of the process, the 50-year-old manufacturer now plans to expand its Urban Solutions range and develop waste solutions that complement local authorities waste management strategies.

The move has also seen Taylors multi-million pound acquisition of waste container manufacturer Sellers, which took place in July 2013 (see letsrecycle.com story). The brand is to become a full component of the Taylor Group under the name Taylor Containers.
