Police and other emergency services were called to Fenestration Recycling Company’s site in Neath Abbey last Tuesday morning.
The man was declared deceased at the scene, South Wales Police confirmed. The police said the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) had been informed and an investigation had begun.
Detective inspector Carl Price said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family, friends and colleagues.”
The HSE told letsrecycle.com South Wales Police “retain primacy in this investigation for now”. A spokesperson for the health and safety regulator added: “HSE is aware of this incident and assisting South Wales Police with its enquiries.”
Letsrecycle.com contacted Fenestration Recycling for comment. On its website, Fenestration Recycling says it operates a “tip” at the site where local companies can dispose of their UPVC window frames and glass.
