TGM, which was known as Salter Paper Ltd until 2006, has primarily provided paper recycling, shredding and other recycling services primarily in London. “Now,” said managing director Graeme Coombes, “the acquisition of The Waste Paper Company gets us into Surrey, which is an important market for paper recyclers with a growing amount of industry between London and the south coast.

“There are a good number of offices and printers in the Surrey area and we can provide them with a broad recycling services.”

Mr Coombes said that Simon Razzell, who founded The Waste Paper Company with wife Sue, 15 years ago will be joining TGM. Mr Coombes added: “Simon is a council member of the Independent Waste Paper Processors Association and is a very welcome addition to our management team.”

TGM, which is owned by Terry Mills – one of the London paper recycling scene's well-known names – sees shredding operations as particularly important in the growth of the business and will be offering its Thoroughshred operation in Surrey.

“TGM has been looking for a strategic purchase in which to expand its paper recycling business outside of central London and to further expand its document destruction business. The Waste Paper Company 'ticked all of the boxes'.
Significant investment will now be made in the depots infrastructure to provide much needed recycling capacity for the Guildford and surrounding areas,” Mr Coombes added.
