In addition, company sales manager Bradley Smith, an employee of Grundon for almost 20 years, has been appointed to the board as sales and marketing director.

Both Mr Sullivan-Webb and Mr Smith will take up their new roles with effect from October 1 this year. The restructure follows Neil Grundons appointment as deputy chairman, and Richard Skehens appointment as chief executive officer, in January 2012.

Consolidate

Mr Skehens said he was delighted to announce the changes to consolidate the board of Grundon Waste Management.

He said: I congratulate both Clayton and Bradley on these well-deserved appointments, which will put the company in a stronger position to maximise our commercial competitiveness as the economy starts to pick up.

I will stay with the company as CEO until mid-summer 2014, to support Clayton and the rest of the board in taking the company forward, as we further expand the portfolio of companies we are looking to take over or get involved with in joint ventures.

Under Claytons leadership, Grundon will continue to expand both organically and by taking advantage of complementary business opportunities as and when they arise.
