Stoneleigh Live to provide new showcase for recycling

The UK gets a new recycling and waste management event next year with “Stoneleigh Live – recycling and waste management in action” running from 15-16 March 2oo5 at the National Agricultural Centre in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.

The event is being organised by letsrecycle.com and offers visitors the opportunity to experience first hand the vehicles and equipment on display.

There will be a number of novel features to the two day exhibition, including an exhibition ‘catwalk’ for vehicles and equipment, which will be held alongside a series of seminars covering both recycling and waste management issues.

“The site has held recycling exhibitions in the past and has since been extensively re-developed”

“The site has held recycling exhibitions in the past and has since been been extensively re-developed to produce a state-of-the-art facility with purpose-built exhibition space and modern conference facilities,” said a spokesman for the show.

For Stoneleigh Live the organisers are erecting a grandstand in the outdoor showground, allowing exhibitors to ‘catwalk’ the latest waste handling vehicles and equipment in a mock residential area. Demonstrations will include simulated kerbside collection, commercial collection of glass, ID systems and how to overcome contamination issues.

Inaugural event

Exhibitors who have already signed up for the inaugural event include waste management companies Biffa, Onyx and SITA and other exhibitors include Abitibi-Consolidated Recycling Europe, Grosvenor Waste Management, Trio Group, Alcan, Aylesford Newsprint, Plastic Omnium, Vermeer and University College Northampton and WIMS.

“Stoneleigh Live fills the gap for an event in which exhibitors can showcase their products and services in a live environment, alongside a traditional talking shop,” said show director Steve Dickinson.

“And by concentrating the event in two days, rather than three, it means substantial savings on space costs, as well as hotels and so on, to say nothing of the huge saving in time.

“Our confidence in staging an innovative event of this nature – part exhibition, part showground and part conference and seminar – has already been vindicated by the tremendous initial support we have received from some of the industry’s leading lights.”
