This flat fee will replace the sliding scale mechanism. Under this system, the more members a scheme had, the lower the fee was that was paid by the scheme’s members.
The largest compliance scheme Valpak had not wanted this to be changed, whereas smaller compliance schemes were generally in favour of a change.
Standard fee set for packaging compliance scheme members
The way packaging compliance schemes register their members with the Environment Agency will change from January 2001, Environment Minister Michael Meacher announced today. From January 1 there will be one flat registration fee each year of 460 for each compliance scheme.
