SITA UK rebrands as Suez Environnement

Waste and recycling services provider SITA UK has rebranded as SUEZ Environnement today (March 12), adopting ‘a new position’ in the management of resources.

SITA UK, the UK division of the global SUEZ Environnement Group, will join the other subsidiaries within the group in operating under a single name.

The firm will become the Recycling & Waste Recovery UK division of SUEZ Environnement, with changes to branding on vehicles and the company website to be phased in over the next two years.

Until now, the group’s activities have been organised around two ‘key’ areas – water and waste. But SUEZ Environnement will now take a more resource-focused approach across these two sectors.

The group hopes the move will simplify its multi-brand structure, with SUEZ Environnment currently operating in more than 70 countries around the world across in excess of 40 different brands.

Convergence

It also expects to the ‘reinforce the convergence’ between the group’s activities as it addresses the challenges of a circular economy.

David Palmer-Jones, chief executive officer of Recycling & Waste Recovery UK, SUEZ Environnement (formerly SITA UK), said:  “We are very pleased to join the other business units within our global group in uniting under a single global brand today.

“The new positioning of our group places the circular economy at its heart and this is a concept that we, in the UK, have transformed our business around in recent years. This restructuring of our global brand will enable us to better meet our customers’ needs and to speak with one voice, alongside our colleagues across the group, on the sustainability challenges of the future.”

Jean Louis Chaussade, group chief executive officer of SUEZ Environnement, added: “The resource revolution will bring about a major and deep-seated transformation of our societies, much like the industrial or digital revolutions. So the Group must be ready to meet its customers’ future needs and converge its activities in order to anticipate and support these changes.

“As a leading player in the circular economy, we must allow this revolution to benefit from our experience by offering a global and coherent offer of solutions for optimised resource management. This is my vision and my conviction.”

The rebranding of SITA UK also includes a new tagline: “Securing together a more sustainable future for all”. The firm will continue to provide waste and recycling services on behalf of households across the UK.
