The Trust has also appointed one of its non-executive directors as general manager and another as company secretary. At the same time it is setting up its own office and launching a new manifesto to underpin its work in promoting recycling and sustainable waste management.
The general manager appointment sees Maggie Bignall taking on the post at the same time that the Trust starts work from offices in Gloucestershire.
Ms Bignell said: “Our priorities will reflect our new funding strategy in which a greater proportion of existing and future funds will be earmarked for those specific categories within the field of sustainable waste management.”
The Trust has promised to honour past commitments in areas such as the restoration of historic buildings.
John Leaver, chairman of the Trust, said: “After four years of operation, the trust’s board of director decided it was time to investigate ways in which the work of the organisation could be enhanced.
“We intend to be a leading environmental body, pioneering new thinking and advising on ways of achieving change, as well as exceeding government category tagets within the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme.
“The new funding strategy is designed to help us deliver those objectives and to be seen to be meeting the highest standards as an organisation with responsibility for spending Landfill Tax Credits.”
