SITA’s northern region is the company’s largest geographical division and covers northern England and Scotland. It includes commercial contracts with Nissan and Findus and 25-year integrated waste management contracts with Aberdeen City Council and Kirklees Metropolitan Council.
Mr Gillatt said that he plans to strengthen the company’s position in the region by ensuring the customer focus of SITA’s services. He said: “This is a very exciting move for me. I have joined a company that has grown tremendously over the past few years. I want to ensure that we take full advantage of all our business opportunities in the north, focus on the importance of our customers in everything we do and develop our staff so that SITA can strengthen its position as market leader.”
Mr Gillatt was previously deputy managing director of Lafarge UK and was instrumental in securing the company’s market position in the UK as a leading supplier of construction materials.
