RWM 2015 opens its doors

Organised by i2i Events Group in partnership with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) the event once again takes place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, running from today until Thursday (September 17).

The exhibition, renowned as Europe’s largest event for resource efficiency and waste management, is this year expected to attract 700 exhibitors and 13,000 visitors.

Exhibitors include equipment providers JCB, Machinex and Blue Group, technology supplier AMCS, vehicle manufacturer Dennis Eagle, Dutch energy firm Twence and a host of others.

Visitors can also get involved in the show’s packed conference schedule, with discussions taking place across four stages throughout the three days.

Speakers

Highlights from day one include the video keynote from Defra’s resources minister Rory Stewart at 10.15 at the Circular Economy Connect Theatre, while Suez UK chief executive David Palmer-Jones, LARAC chief executive Lee Marshall and Alban Foster of SLR Consulting will discuss the challenges faced by councils in meeting the 50% by 2020 recycling targets at 14.45 at the Local Authority Theatre.

During his address, Mr Stewart said he would like to see greater harmonisation between local authority collection methods.

The show, supported by new chairman Barry Dennis, is this year introducing a dedicated area on the show floor, the RWM Launchpad. This enables start-ups with game-changing business ideas to showcase products and services to an industry audience of over 13,000 professionals.

Other must-see areas of the show include the handling and logistics zone; recycling and reprocessing technologies zone; energy from waste zone; professional services; and, machinery and equipment.

The team from the Environment Media Group, the company behind letsrecycle.com and airqualitynews.com, will also be on hand to answer questions about our range of publications as well as queries regarding sales or our busy calendar of events.
