Steve Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com, said: “The pub quiz is an unmissable opportunity for people to relax and network in informal and fun atmosphere. It's an opportunity to make some contacts and just have a good time after a busy day at the seminars and exhibition.”
Popular comedian and former host of Catchphrase, Roy Walker, is acting as quizmaster and, thanks to his sparkling turn the last time he hosted the quiz in 2007, the jokes are fully expected to be as free-flowing as the drinks on offer.
The AbitibiBowater-sponsored Quiz costs just £50 to register individually, or £450 for a team of up to 10 people. Once registered guests will receive barbecue and drinks vouchers and a quiz sheet.
Forum

The Forum will give delegates plenty to talk about at the Quiz on the 10th; it features in-depth seminars devoted WEEE and organics. The WEEE seminar looks to the future of electronics recycling examining compliance, regulations and batteries. Speakers include Steve Andrews from BERR, Bob Mead of the Environment Agency, Duncan Simpson from Valpak and Mike Beard from Wastepack.
The organics session highlights important issues for organics recyclers, such as anaerobic digestion and energy generation, food waste, waste exemptions and how organics recycling it set to develop. Speakers include organics experts Nina Sweet of WRAP, Domonic Hogg, of consultancy Eunomia and Association for Organics Recycling managing director Jeremy Jacobs.
Organics
Day two has a session focused on paper, plastics and materials, which will examine the impact of November's price crash on the sector and take a look at the ways forward. Speakers include Bruce Terrell of Atlantic Paper, Matthew Prosser of Severnside Recycling and David Workman of British Glass.
Also taking place is the Recycling Stars seminar which examines the way businesses impact upon the environment and explores ways firms can tackle waste and reduce their carbon footprint. Delegates lucky enough to attend this seminar will hear from Paul Dumpleton of Shanks, Chindarat Taylor from Pathway to Zero Waste and Claire Poole of CIWM.
Mr Eminton commented: “The Forum will get inside the issues affecting the waste and recycling sector at the moment. We've gathered some of the most exciting, interesting and knowledgeable speakers from the industry and have developed a really exciting programme.”
