The stamp was first put to use on May 8 and will be used until June 18 this year, which will see the stamp used throughout the Recycle Now's week long Big Recycle campaign. The event runs from June 5-11.
Around 6 million households will receive the mark every day, with all items of mail going through the Royal Mail's Integrated Mail Processors sorting machines being stamped.
Jennie Price, chief executive at the organisation running the Recycle Now campaign – the Waste and Resources Action Programme, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to remind millions of people that recycling is an everyday activity – just like delivering the post – an is a great way to boost awareness of the Recycle Now symbol as a strong call to action.”
The Royal Mail campaign also coincides with the launch of the latest in the series of Recycle Now's television adverts. Previous adverts have focused on the possibilities of recycling cans, glass bottles, paper and garden waste.
