Coventry-based safety specialists Innovative Safety Systems Ltd (ISS) has installed the latest vehicle safety equipment on the new fleet purchased by the Lichfield and Tamworth Joint Waste Service.

Recording equipment has been installed to help with accident investigations and to defend or reinforce insurance claims across Lichfield District and Tamworth borough.

Jonathan Thomas, director ISS, said: Our recording equipment is state of the art with features that provide an accurate record of exactly what has occurred at any point in time during a vehicles operation.

We provide mapping software as standard so that customers can see exactly where each vehicle is, what operation is being performed and even vehicle data such as speed, brakes indicators and G forces. This information is crucial for the proper investigation of accidents or incidents for which insurance claims being made against the authority.

Compact & Bale offers German baler range

Kent-based Compact & Bale has been appointed as the UK distributor for German manufacturer Strautmanns full range of automated baling machinery.

Alongside Strautmanns standard baler arrange, Compact & Bale is offering the BaleTainer for compacting paper, cardboard, film and PET bottles, the LiquiDrainer for emptying PET bottles, Tetrapaks and beverage cans and the AutoLoadBaler, a self loading vertical baler.

CDEnviro develops hopper for gully waste

Recycling systems manufacturer CDEnviro has unveiled the SF500 screw feeding hopper, designed specifically for gully waste recycling plants.

Gully waste is that which is washed from drainage channels, including gutters.

The standalone unit features a fully stainless steel trough and a 500mm diameter screw. CDEnviro has developed a number of specifically designed systems to treat road sweepings and gully waste.

The company has provided equipment to some of the UKs largest waste and recycling companies including SITA UK and Regional Waste Recycling. CDEnviro also offers technology for sludge dewatering, sewage recycling, digester cleaning and wet well cleaning.

Guide to protecting recycling equipment launched

Lining specialist Kingfisher Industrial has published a guide for recycling facility operators, offering advice on how to safeguard plant and equipment from wear and damage.

The publication highlights the benefits of employing wear protection on new materials handling machinery and retrofitting it to existing equipment.

The centrepiece of the publication is a clear cutaway graphic of a recycling plant. This is annotated to highlight key equipment and explain how wear protection can extend its operating life.

The accompanying text underlines the benefits of coating or lining key plant and equipment, such as, screen decks and underpans, ducting, transfer chutes and silos.

Kingfishers managing director John Connolly, said: The recycling industry can achieve substantial benefits with wear protection of plant and equipment, saving literally millions of pounds annually in unnecessary maintenance costs and lost production time.

ICP Handling to market Kramer loaders in Midlands

ICP Handling has been named as the new dealer of wheeled and telescopic loaders for German manufacturer Kramer, covering the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire.

The company was set up by fork truck specialist Abex of Birmingham, which sells Nissan forklifts and Combilift four-directional trucks and has over 25-years experience of the West Midlands industrial market.
