UNTHA UK unveils RDF shredder
The new machines are the first to be designed and manufactured in UNTHAs innovation centre in Kuchl, Austria, and are specifically engineered to shred untreated municipal, commercial and industrial and general bulky waste.
It is powered by the new UNTHA Eco Drive technology, which uses water-cooled synchronous motors rather than a conventional electro hydraulic operation. Operators can predetermine their particle size with the help of interchangeable screens and screen bars, to produce a fraction as small as 50mm or as large as 400mm.
UNTHA UKs managing director, Chris Oldfield said: The XR enables RDF and SRF manufacturers to reduce their electricity consumption whilst protecting the safety and efficiency of their staff, and ultimately, improving their profitability.
New equipment for Scrubs Lane recycling plant
A North West London waste company has invested 500,000 in a new sorting line at its Scrubs Lane site.
ODonovan Waste Disposal has purchased an electric trommel, conveyor, magnet and picking station, to improve throughput of construction and demolition waste produced in the capital.
The project was delivered by Powerscreen Midlands and Kiverco and the new equipment enables ODonovan to handle over 40 tonnes of material per hour.
Managing director of the firm Jacqueline ODonovan said: The new plant is not only delivering significant benefits in terms of processing increased tonnages each day, but also in terms of efficiency and reduced emissions, which is a core part of our Greener Vision Strategy.
As a business, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and this new processing line will help us further build upon the reduction in our carbon emissions weve achieved over the last 4 years.
Remada buys Remu screening bucket
Soil treatment firm Remada has invested in a new screening bucket from Worsley Plant to help operations at its remediation site near Leeds.
The Remu EE3150 HD Mix will be used to remove larger rock and soil and allow Remada to break down the soil more quickly. It will be used on the companys 20 tonne excavator and it will also be made available for hire.
The firm, which was formed as a joint venture between Scientus Consulting and GJP Contract Services, also operates a Soil Treatment Facility near the NEC in the West Midlands.
Director of Remada, Gary Price, said: Prior to buying the Remu EE3160, we were using another bucket which comes nowhere near the capabilities, speed and power the Remu offers. The service levels and expertise offered by Worsley Plant is second to none and we look forward to reaping the benefits of our new equipment, both out on site and at our Soil Treatment Facility.
Broughton Engineering enters Scottish market
Skip-loaders, hook loader and close-coupled trailer manufacturer Broughton Engineering has announced its plans to appoint a mounting agent for Scotland.
Now owned by Skan Group Holdings, the firm will grow its market share in Scotland with the Power-Reach skip loader, which was launched in September last year.
The product includes a package that incorporates a fully integrated and patented Intacova sheeting system which features a low and retracted cover arm position within the skip loader side rave., reducing the opportunity for damage when loading.
Broughton Engineering and Oldbury UK Group sales and marketing director, Steve Price said: Given the way in which Boughtons latest products have been received in the market, underpinned by strong orders, we recognised that we would need to extend our mounting and service engineering capability into Scotland at an early but appropriate time.
That time is now we are in discussions with likely future partners and we expect to be able to announce an appointment within the very near future.
