This year’s show, which takes place as usual at the NEC, will run on two days, rather than three, from Wednesday 12 to Thursday 13 September.
Delegates will have access to 350 seminars across the two-day event, ranging from the dilemmas surrounding plastics waste minimisation and the recycling and “prevention of waste crime” to increasing recycling activities and helping smaller businesses achieve further growth.
The session involving David Palmer-Jones, chief executive of Suez and Ian Wakelin, chief executive of Biffa, takes place at 10.15 am in the keynote theatre and will, says the organiser Prysm, see “an intense discussion by two of the most influential figures of the industry.”
A range of exhibitors at the show are expected to attract attention from visitors.
Machinex
Among the exhibitors, Machinex will be exhibiting its SamurAI “self-aware sorting robot” which employs artificial intelligence to identify materials for an accurate, positive product recovery or a precise quality control function. Featuring a 4 articulation robot, Machinex says this is a perfect solution “to reduce the dependence on manual sorting within recovery facilities”.
Clugston
Visitors to Clugston’s stand will have the opportunity to find out about the wide-ranging services provided by the group’s construction, logistics and facilities management divisions, including bespoke solutions for the recycling and waste management industry.
The company notes it has established a market leading position in the energy from waste (EfW) sector, working closely with French process specialists CNIM to deliver a large number of major EfW projects across the UK.
Novelis
Novelis, the purchaser of UK-sourced aluminium beverage cans for recycling, has said it is pleased to be exhibiting at the show and notes it has the capacity to recycle every aluminium beverage can sold in the UK – approximately 117,000 tonnes per year – equivalent to over seven billion cans.
The company’s team of buyers will be at the event. Keith Guest, leader scrap procurement UK UBC commented: “We see great value in attending the RWM exhibition and look forward to meeting our existing customers as well as welcoming new partners.”
r2c Online
Connected fleet and workshop management software provider, r2c Online, will be showcasing its Exemplar software package for best practice compliance. A spokesman for the company said: “Exemplar has already been tried and tested in the waste management sector, with customers such as Viridor and Cawleys Waste describing it as “priceless”. Top features include wheel inspection reporting, compliance KPI dashboard and its ability to create custom inspection sheets and driver checks.”
