Envac MD Gaylor returns to Taylor
Mr Gaylor, managing director at vacuum waste collection system provide Envac UK since 2007, will start his new role on March 1 and joins in the year Taylor celebrates its 50th anniversary. His appointment follows the acquisition of Taylor by prominent London environmental investors, Sullivan Street Partners and Oakfield Capital Partners and the announcement that current chairman Peter Selkirk is leaving the firm (see letsrecycle.com story).
In his new role, Gaylor will be responsible for developing and leading the companys strategic direction. He will also be appointed to the board of directors.

Recolight appoints compliance manager
Recolight, the specialist WEEE compliance scheme for the lighting industry, has appointed Derek McNair as compliance manager.
Mr McNair has worked in the waste management industry for over 20 years and the company said he had a wealth of experience in the field of legislative compliance, having worked in both the public and private sectors. He will be responsible for helping to ensure that Recolight, as well as its collection points and recyclers, operate in compliance with all applicable health, safety and environmental legislation.
He said: I am extremely pleased to be joining Recolight and look forward to working with all our customers and suppliers, maintaining and improving the high standards in compliance and customer service.

Sunersol recruits sales manager
West Yorkshire-based WEEE recycler, Sunersol, has announced that Glynn Dunkley is the latest person from the recycling industry to join the firm. This comes after the appointment of former EnvironCom and Viridor employee Simon Boyd as operations director (see letsrecycle.com story).
As sales manager, Mr Dunkley will be responsible for securing contracts with councils and waste management companies. In previous roles as sales manager at Lincolnshire-based WEEE recycler EnvironCom and business development manager at Nottingham recycling company Wastecycle, Glynn dealt with large contracts for blue chip companies. He is also experienced at working with retailers, producer compliance schemes and waste management authorities.

New MD and boardmembers for OSS
Iain Lees has been appointed group managing director of OSS Environmental Holdings Limited, the parent company of waste oil and workshop hazardous waste specialists OSS Group Limited. His appointment follows the resignation of long term MD Andy McNair after over a year of illness.
Iain Lees has been working in the specialist area of waste oil collection, processing and associated hazardous waste services for a number of years and has been the Finance Director of OSS Group Limited since 2000.
Commenting on the resignation of Andy McNair, Iain Lees said, OSS Group and the waste industry in general owe Andy a great deal. The OSS Environmental Holdings Board was responsible for driving the End of Waste issue where, after much effort, the Courts decreed that a fuel produced from waste oil could be classified as a product resulting in the End of Waste Quality Protocol for Processed Fuel Oils.
Three new appointments have also been made the Board of OSS Environmental Holdings Limited; Stewart McCorkindale, Mark Bridgens and Phillip Ellis.
Stewart McCorkindale, previously OSS Group financial controller, will replace Iain Lees as group finance director. Mark Bridgens who has worked for OSS Group for the last ten years is now group sales & marketing director and Phillip Ellis who joined the company last February is now group operations director.
Aylesford adds two new managers to its recycling team
Aylesford Newsprint, the Kent-based manufacturer of 100% recycled newsprint, has added two new managers to its recycling department. Matt Feekings joins the team from Medway council as area manager covering the south east while Karen Newell has rejoined the team taking on the area manager role for the Midlands and Wales.
Mr Feekings spent five years as Medway councils waste minimisation and promotions officer, which the company said gave him an excellent understanding of the demands placed on local authority recycling teams and extensive experience of building and delivering internal and external communication programmes to increase participation and improve behaviours. One aspect of Aylesford Newsprint that Matt is keen to encourage other local authority officers to experience is the mill tour.
Ms Newell previously spent seven years within the Aylesford Newsprint recycling department, but left to join SCA when it were in the early stages of developing its Southampton MRF. Both Matt and Karen will be reporting to Gemma Barratt who was appointed to lead the recycling department in November 2011. She said: Im really pleased to that Matt and Karen have joined the team. Together they bring such a wealth of experience and understanding which can only be a huge benefit to our suppliers.
