Molson Green unveils J. Doppstadt de-stoner

The company held an open day event to show the machinery last month at the Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire.

The machinery enables stone removal from compost material to help ensure that “high standards are reached”. It is available throughout the UK from Molson Green, a specialist division of Molson Group for the organics and recycling sector.

Developed by J. Doppstadt in Austria the de-stoner can process up to 20 tonnes an hour of organics material.

Molson Green says the machine uses very little water to remove stones (approximately 1m3 per hour), which means that the compost which has been through the process does not require too long a drying time before being able to be handled further.

Process

The GT130A is available in electric or diesel and receives material from a conveyor which is then dropped into the machine’s 8m3 water bath.

From this point heavy material sinks through a specially designed gap to a small auger that then moves the heavy material up the machine to a discharge conveyor, while the light material floats in the water bath, before a larger top auger transports the material to a separate conveyor.

The de-stoner machine has been designed to be “robust and of low-wear construction”, the company says.

Molson added the machine is “set to tackle a common problem in the production of compost that may yards all around the UK face with the constant re-circulation of stones in the material”.

Compact footprint

“The machines compact footprint (the same as a 20ft container when folded up for transport) make this a versatile piece of kit that can be transported easily to different locations on the same site, or to alternate sites as and when required,” the company added.
