The acquisition of the division will see Mick George take ownership of five collection vehicles and 1,600 bins – increasing the firm’s bin count to more than 2,000 and doubling the size of its commercial waste fleet.

It follows the Cambridgeshire-based company’s decision to launch a new commercial waste service last month, which will see it offer 100% recycling of all commercial waste collected by its customers (see letsrecycle.com story).
Recycle Force, based in Corby, provides collections of non-hazardous industrial waste and commingled recyclables under its trade waste division. Its bins range in size from 240 litre two-wheeled containers to 1,280 litre four-wheeled models.
The firm also operates hazardous waste, general recycling, waste management, confidential shredding and WEEE recycling businesses which do not form part of the acquisition.
Mick George’s latest acquisition is part of its long-term plan to expand its waste management business across Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire. The firm has traditionally specialised in skip hire and aggregate supply for the construction industry.
Transition
Jon Stump, finance director of Mick George, said that the firm would be working closely with the Recycle Force team to ensure a ‘smooth transition’ for customers.
Mr Stump said: “Existing Recycle Force customers can expect to receive the excellent Mick George level of service and support but with the added benefits that the Mick George network can offer. These include wheelie bin and Front End/Rear End Loader services, skip and RORO hire, waste bags, bespoke waste services and the guarantee that 100 percent of their commercial waste will be recycled and not directed to landfill.”
He added: “The Mick George reputation is built on a long track record of delivering reliable and professional services backed up with a first class level of customer service. We will be working closely with the team at Recycle Force to ensure a smooth transition for all their existing customers, and we look forward to working in partnership with these businesses to provide a tailored, personal service that all Mick George customers come to expect and value.”
