Envar currently offers waste management and composting services through third party sites across the UK and services contracts for clients including water companies, local authorities, food manufacturers and paper mills.
The company is keen to explore options including setting up its own processing sites, with composting and anaerobic digestion (AD) among the technologies being assessed. The company is also keen to expand its integrated waste management offering including dry mixed waste and WEEE recycling.
Acquisition
It also recycles materials including industrial by-products such as effluents and sludges, abattoir wastes, sewage sludges and ash from energy generation.
Mr Ready, a former commercial manager of waste management firm Greenstar Environmental, who joined Envar in February 2011, said: We are delighted with the acquisition of the Envar Contracting business which forms a key part of our development strategy. We are excited about taking this business forward under the Ecoganix brand and expanding on the strong foundation put in place under the ADAS ownership.
Colin Speller, managing director of ADAS Group, said: We believe that the contracting business has an exciting future in its new ownership as it will be able to pursue a range of opportunities that lie outside the vision and strategy of the ADAS Group. Arthur has managed the business for the last two years and is well placed to take it forward.
