Sponsored by food waste collection company Keenan Recycling, the Net Zero Conference will take place on 16 March at Pinsent Masons in London.
Topics covered will include carbon capture at energy from waste plants, the potential for decarbonisation in European waste management, and how the UK will change if net zero is achieved.
Last October, the UK government published its plan for achieving net zero emissions by 2050 (see letsrecycle.com story).
In November, Glasgow hosted the COP26 climate summit, though the event received criticism for focusing too little on waste.
With an ever-growing need to address emissions, the Net Zero Conference will demonstrate the role the waste sector can play in helping the country achieve its climate goals.
The conference will bring together businesses and organisations involved in the waste and recycling industry, along with local authorities.
A standard ticket costs £250 plus VAT and a booking fee, while a local authority ticket costs £160 plus VAT and a booking fee. Tickets can be purchased here.
