Midlands Recycling Ltd was found guilty in its absence by Worcester magistrates of dumping controlled waste at Stonehill Farm, Ombersley, and at Crabbe Yard, Wadborough.
” The Environment Agency will not tolerate the illegal dumping of waste on land which has not been adapted to accept that waste.“

The company, which was also found guilty of transferring waste without sufficient description, also had to pay over 3,500 in costs.
Speaking after the case, an Environment Agency spokesman said: “The Environment Agency will not tolerate the illegal dumping of waste on land which has not been adapted to accept that waste and when there is no Waste Management Licence in place.
“I hope this fine will act as a warning to businesses who think that they can just flout the law and behave in as irresponsible manner as Midlands Recycling Limited,” he added.

The Environment Agency, which brought the case, said demolition waste had been found dumped at the Crabbe Yard site in 2003, but the site had no Waste Management Licence. In 2004, the company was found to be separating waste materials on the site.
At Stonehill Farm, Agency officers found the dumping of waste including soil, brick and rubble on land that had no planning permission or Waste Management Licence.
