The announcement yesterday (April 8) will see ERG, which has two permitted sites in the Midlands, expand its geographical reach by adding another site in the South East of England.

Established in 1996, ERG includes seven interconnecting businesses, such as waste and logistics firm Chemtech, facility operator Envirosol and waste management partner Box Clever.

The Group also includes waste management products provider Safeguard, industrial cleaning company Chemclear, consultancy Blendcheck and construction specialist RWH Construction.

ERG said it is keen to grow and is resolute in increasing its market share and would continue to invest in strategically-placed acquisitions to further strengthen its geographical reach and depth of service offering.

Delighted

‘The Board are delighted with the acquisitions. We already have two EA permitted facilities in the Midlands and this additional site based in the South East enables ERG to further support our clients in the more densely populated areas of the UK.’

Aron James, chief executive of ERG

Aron James, chief executive of ERG, said: The hazardous waste market is very fragmented with lots of players. Having worked for one of the industry Blue Chips in the past, it was my mission to create a new and unique business that was wholly client centric. Its no coincidence that nearly 50% of our staff are employed in a customer related role, either working in our service centre in the Midlands or geographically positioned to provide regional support.

He added: The Board are delighted with the acquisitions. We already have two EA permitted facilities in the Midlands and this additional site based in the South East enables ERG to further support our clients in the more densely populated areas of the UK.

In addition, Peter Cohen previously chief executive of PHS Group recently joined ERG as strategic advisor at the end of March, which the firm said would undoubtedly help James and the rest of the Board in this quest for growth and expansion.
