Greener Ealing pays tribute to staff member killed in Uxbridge stabbing

A Greener Ealing employee has been named as the victim of a fatal stabbing that took place in Uxbridge on Monday evening (27 October 2025).

Wayne Broadhurst, 49, who worked as a bin collector for Greener Ealing, the waste and environmental services company owned by Ealing Council, died at the scene after police and paramedics were called to Midhurst Gardens at around 5pm.

Emergency services were responding to reports that three people had been stabbed.

Two other victims – a 45-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy – were treated for stab wounds before being taken to hospital.

Greener Ealing statement

In a statement, Greener Ealing’s Managing Director, Katarina Pohancenikova, said: “We are very sorry to confirm that one of Greener Ealing’s employees, Wayne Broadhurst, died following the tragic incident that took place in Uxbridge on Monday evening.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Wayne’s family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.

“This is a devastating loss. Wayne was a well-respected and dedicated member of our team who made a real contribution to the work we do and to the residents we serve.

“Wayne was 49 and had worked full-time for Greener Ealing since 2019. He was a greatly valued friend and colleague.

“We ask for the privacy of Wayne’s loved ones to be respected as they come to terms with this appalling news.”

Vigil held on Tuesday evening

On Tuesday evening (28 October), around 100 people gathered at the junction of Midhurst Gardens and Leybourne Road to pay tribute to Mr Broadhurst.

The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time. Detectives are working intensely to piece together the circumstances of this incident.”
