The accreditation, awarded by SGS Yarsley, underlines the company’s commitment to professionalism and sustainable development.
Commenting on the accreditation, G&P;’s Managing Director Michael Green said, “This is an important step for us, and sets us firmly and visibly on the road of continuous environmental improvement. As a company in the special waste industry, G&P;’s accreditation to ISO14001 will bring our customers additional peace of mind and confidence that their waste is being handled in the best possible way. In addition, the developments that we will be undertaking in the future will bring long-term benefits to customers in terms of best practice and cost effectiveness.”
G&P; Batteries Ltd says it currently collects about a third of all the waste lead acid batteries in the UK from its central depot in the Midlands, and is involved in developments to collect and recycle other types of batteries.
