Now in its fourth year, the awards ceremony recognise the achievements and hard work of local authority recycling officers and their colleagues over the past year.

The winners are to be announced at a presentation dinner at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on October 15, following the first day of the annual LARAC conference.
The 2014 finalists include recycling officers from Oxford, the Wirral and Chiltern & Wycombe, as well as communication campaigns launched by councils in Cheshire, Ealing and Surrey.
Meanwhile, Falkirk and Hart councils and the Waste Regulations Working Group will vie for the coveted ‘Best New Idea’ award, which this year includes nominations for a sustainable waste collection service and a drive to boost recycling in schools.
Commending the entrants, LARAC chair Andrew Bird said: “I am confident again that this year we have had a very high standard of entries. It was a difficult process to pick the finalists and it’s good to see that despite all the pressure facing local government there’s still so many fantastic schemes being rolled out.”
Mr Bird added that he was ‘very much looking forward to the annual conference’ next month.
There are still places available for the LARAC Conference and Celebration Awards 2014, book your place today at: http://www.laracconference.org.uk/
The awards spans six categories and will be presented following a black tie dinner and drinks reception. LARAC 2014 is organised by letsrecycle.com.
