The extension is for its household waste recycling centre (HWRC) and transfer loading station (TSL) contract, and it will see the company delivering services until the end of March 2030.
According to FCC Environment, the contract covers the operation of 13 HWRC’s across Hull and East Riding, as well as three waste transfer stations in Carnaby, Goole and Wilmington.
Under the contract, FCC Environment are also committed to carrying on with the ongoing development and reuse operations across the region in partnership with Dove House.
In 2023/24, this partnership contributed over 276 tonnes of material diverted to reuse, and since their inception in 2015, they have diverted a total of 2,306 tonnes.
‘Delighted’
Steve Longdon, chief executive officer of FCC Environment, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to continue working in partnership with Hull city council and East Riding of Yorkshire council, delivering these key services to residents which represents value for public money but also continuity of service for residents.”
Procurement
The contract announcement follows a joint procurement exercise that led to the original joint contract between Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire councils and FCC Waste Services (UK), now FCC Environment, in 2015.
