Exhibitors gear up for CARS event

Key suppliers to the end-of-life vehicle (ELV) recycling industry are gearing up to exhibit at the Complete Auto Recycling & Secondary Materials (CARS) event in Doncaster next week.

With visitors from 19 countries as far afield as Pakistan, Estonia and Canada all registered, Europes biggest ELV recycling trade event looks set to be a truly global show.

Taking place at MotorHogs 25-acre working salvage yard on June 5-6, the event will feature tours of the site as well as insight from industry experts alongside practical training, machine demonstrations and evening entertainment.

Sponsored by FAB Recycling Limited, JCB, JMC Recycling Systems and Remove My Car, the 2014 event organised by the Environment Media Group includes an indoor exhibition which will host a range of key suppliers to the industry.

Companies exhibiting include: green parts specialists Reco Auto; storage manufacturers Racks Industries; and, G&P Batteries the UK’s leading battery recycling and waste battery collection specialists.

Headline sponsors FAB Recycling will be demonstrating FAB Bundle the first site selling personally checked, traceable, pre-owned bulk vehicle parts to the trade. They will explain how the FAB kitemark on the processing of parts is helping shift perceptions inside and outside the industry, leading it into the 21st century.

In addition, specialist insurance broker Ingram, Hawkins and Nock (IHN), will be on hand to talk about its services while also running a Test your strength competition, with the winner being awarded an iron man trophy.

CARS 2014

Taking place on June 5-6, the CARS: Complete Auto Recycling & Secondary Materials event will take an in-depth look at the vehicle scrapping trade. Organised by Environment Media Group, it is the only trade show in the UK held on a working salvage yard – Motorhog in Doncaster.

Another headline sponsor, Remove My Car, will also be encouraging competition at their stand with their Racing Bug Car Track. Visitors to the stand will be able to find out more about the firms new online auction system, which gives ATFs access to their own profile in which they can view information about an ELV and bid within 30 minutes.

Outdoor demos

The Outdoor Demo Area will showcase machinery from Crow Environmental, Combilift, Clark Engineering and Green Car Depollution. And, the Big Machine Area will host Overtons auto dismantling system with Hammels mobile frag shredding the hulks into processed material.

Two more dismantling systems will also be on show W M Clark & Sons Powerhand Vehicle Recycling System and the Scorpion from SAS Forks while Blue Fuchs will demonstrate the MHL 340 and material handler. Plus, headline sponsor JCB will launch its loadall telescopic handler.

Conference

Elsewhere, the Duesmann and Hensel Conference Theatre host sessions with a panel of expert speakers discussing key topics facing the sector.

On the first day of the show, conference sessions have been developed with the bodyshop and related industries in mind, while the second day is geared towards those who work in the metals recycling sector. Full programmes for the conference and skills lab are available to view online.

Sessions include: the Green Parts Forum; Meeting 2015 ELV targets; and Making business sense of the 2013 Scrap Metal Dealers Act; Sales Training Motivating Your Staff; and Safe Fuel Recovery.
