CRJ Services celebrates 20 years of machinery hire

CRJ Services is celebrating 20 years in business providing material processing solutions to the UK and Ireland’s waste and recycling industries.

CRJ Services are celebrating 20 years in business

CRJ was incorporated in 1999 after its three directors diversified their farming operations into organics recycling for local authorities in Cheshire. Following a successful period of a green waste processing for local authorities, CRJ Services began hiring out their existing shredders and screeners.

In 2019 Matpro Machinery (now CRJ Sales) joined the organisation and began offering sales of new machinery alongside the hires and parts business. The company now have the distribution rights for top OEM’s Haas Recycling Systems, Weima, Ecostar and Steelweld within the UK and Ireland.

Rob Symons, CRJ services director, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating our twentieth anniversary this year. I’m thankful to our customers and staff for their commitment over the past twenty years, and as a team we are looking forward to pushing on and developing our service further.”

TOMRA opens Leicester ‘centre for excellence’

Sorting specialists TOMRA has opened a centre for excellence on the outskirts of Leicester.

TOMRA House is a ‘centre for excellence’, including a warehouse to ensure supply of spare parts to the UK

The 1,800 sq feet double-storey facility houses meeting rooms and a conference suite, as well as a large warehouse where €1m worth of spare parts and equipment will be available for immediate delivery to TOMRA’s customers. Currently spare parts have to be delivered to the UK from mainland Europe.

Brian Gist, head of TOMRA UK, said: “Almost every UK waste and recycling facility uses equipment that has been imported into the UK and it’s highly likely that the supply of spare parts for these plants will be affected by Brexit.

“That’s why we have taken steps to address this threat by investing in vastly improved storage facilities from where spare parts can immediately be delivered to customers rather than being slowed down when being imported from other countries.”

TOMRA says the facility is a significant investment and demonstrates TOMRA’s long-term commitment to the recycling industry in the UK and Ireland.

Pellenc ST launches compact sorting machine

Sorting technology developer Pellenc ST has launched a sorting machine which it says is the most compact on the market.

Pellenc ST has launched the Mistral Compact sorting machine

The Mistral Compact is designed to eliminate issues associated with modernising existing plants. The two configurations of the machine allow it to be integrated into existing sites in place of old equipment, regardless of the width, model or brand previously installed.

Pellenc ST claim that the Mistral Compact will deliver the same standards as its Mistral+ range. The equipment is backed up by Pellenc ST’s technical support service.
