Shropshire-based Reconomy will provide a range of services through its national network of waste and recycling providers including utility tipping, aggregate supply, hazardous waste disposal, skip hire and waste and recycling collection and disposal.

Enterprise provides over 100 front-line services to local authorities and commercial businesses and currently employs over 13,000 people in 150 locations throughout the UK.
The partnership with Reconomy, across both its utility and government divisions, is designed to help it meet its target of 90% recycling on all waste contracts by the end of 2012.
Reconomy was selected as waste partner by the Groups procurement team. Through the contract Enterprise aims to consolidate procurement of waste management contracts, increase its recycling rate and reduce the amount of material sent to landfill. Contractual milestones are in place to ensure Reconomy is fulfilling its role.
The contract will not impact upon Enterprises current waste and recycling collection contracts, although Reconomy will be on hand to help with the procurement of equipment or vehicles if necessary.
Partnership
Commenting on the contract Clark Russell, regional procurement manager for Enterprise, said: Reconomys successful track record of delivering recycling-led solutions gave us the confidence to set up the partnership.
It is important we partner with a waste provider who leads the way in customer service and recycling, delivering our corporate social responsibility targets, adding value with clear and concise management information.
Michael Benton, operations director at Reconomy, added: At every stage of the negotiations the Enterprise requirement of recycling 90% of all waste by end of 2012 was at the forefront. Having already achieved similar targets for a large number of our existing clients, I have every confidence that target will be achieved.
Portal
Reconomy will provide the Enterprise team with access to its online portal which provides real-time data on recycling and landfill performance around the clock.
The portal uses a dashboard which shows the total group spend on waste as well as detailed regional information about specific waste streams and tonnages. Reconomy hopes the portal will allow better control of waste costs whilst reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.
National Trust
The contract adds to Reconomys growing client base as last month it signed a five-year supplier framework deal with the National Trust (see letsrecycle.com story). The deal will see Reconomy source waste contractors to handle waste from the Trusts 350 sites, including nature reserves and woodlands, across the UK.
