Easimet seeks top three place in UK ferrous export market

Metals recycling company Easimet is to open a second UK export facility for ferrous scrap in a bid to become one of the largest exporters in the market. Managing director Graham Sait told letsrecycle.com that the company was to open at Chatham docks on December 4 2000. “We will be taking in a varity of grades including cut grades, 12C, plate and girder, OA and shredded.” No processing will be done by the company which is a joint venture between Mr Sait and Dutch metals recycler Rolf Van Dalen which has eight processing yards in Belgium and Holland and operates four shredders and deep sea facilities. Easimet has also just joined the British Metals Federation and Mr Sait said he hoped to contribute to the work of the organisation. Looking at the UK market generally, Mr Sait said that he believed there was room for a third major player alongside European Metal Recycling and Simsmetal. “Our presence in London confirms that.”
