Communications toolkit now available for council officers

WRAP – the Waste and Resources Action Programme – has launched a Communications Monitoring and Evaluation toolkit for local authority officers and is to hold a series of seminars to offer advice on communication campaigns.

The training will take place during November and December at football grounds around the UK:

  • 18 November: Birmingham City Football Club
  • 22 November: Arsenal FC, Highbury
  • 23 November: Bristol City Football Club
  • 14 December: Manchester United FC
  • 17 December: Middlesbrough Football Club

The half day course, says WRAP, will show delegates how to gather “useable data about their communication campaigns; how best to evaluate the cost effectiveness of their marketing and PR activities and demonstrate how they have resulted in changes in awareness and usage of recycling services.”

Good practice

The organisation considers that the toolkit “represents a good practice approach, and is recommended for use by all local authorities who are implementing communications campaigns.”

Gareth Lloyd, director of communications at WRAP, said: “The toolkit brings together expert knowledge on evaluating communications campaigns and can be used by anyone running a campaign. The training course aims to demonstrate how useful and practical it is to follow.”

The toolkit is available online at www.recyclenowpartners.org.uk
